DevCenter our new DataStax drivers, and DataStax OpsCenter are designed to give you a simple, productive and familiar environment for developing and administering Apache Cassandra™ and DataStax Enterprise.
DevCenter is a free visual query tool that can be used by both developers and admins for creating and running Cassandra Query Language (CQL) queries and commands against Apache Cassandra and DataStax Enterprise.
Since our pre-production releases a couple of months ago, we’ve added many new core components including a Schema Explorer, an Outline view for CQL scripts, and a smart CQL editor that supports syntax highlighting and advanced code auto-completion.

DataStax DevCenter runs on Mac, Linux, Windows and is available for download now. The distribution also includes some sample scripts to get started with (check the README for more details).

Download the latest Apache Cassandra 4.0 beta release: 4.0-beta2 (pgp, sha256 and sha512), released on 2020-08-31. Latest Stable Version. Download the latest Apache Cassandra 3.11 release: 3.11.8 (pgp, sha256 and sha512), released on 2020-08-31. Older Supported Releases. The following older Cassandra releases are still supported.
1) Go the dowload page of DataStax
http://www.datastax.com/download
2) Go bottom down the page and select DEVCENTER Visual Query Tool.
3) Select 64 bit for MacOS. It will start downloading.
4) Extract the file contents

tar -xzvf Documents/DevCenter-1.3.1-macosx-x86_64.tar.gz 5) Go to the extracted folder and click on DevCenter icon to launch.
6) The DevCenter window will be opened
7) To create a connection to the Cassandra server, right click on the Connections explorer and click on ‘New Connection’.
8) A window will be opened asking details for creating the connection
Provide the connection name and contact hosts and then click on Add button. The default address on which Cassandra database runs is 127.0.0.1 with port 9042.
8) This will create connection. Right click on the connection name and click on Open Connection option.

9) This will open the connection with the database. Open new CQL script window and provide queries over there to perform operations on Cassandra database.
